• 2012/03/13: After a rather long development break, a beta test release of Writer2LaTeX 1.2 is now available for download. Writer2LaTeX 1.2 features better integration with OpenOffice.org/LibreOffice, XeTeX support, Zotero and JabRef support, new Writer4LaTeX extension integrating Writer with your LaTeX installation, export to EPUB format.

• 2011/08/09: The development snapshot Writer2LaTeX 1.1.8 is released. This release features support for cover image and full screen images in EPUB export, support for xepersian.sty, support for EMF images, Farsi and Catalan translation and a few bugfixes.

• 2011/04/20: The development snapshot Writer2LaTeX 1.1.7 is released. This release makes further improvements to the EPUB export and fixes various bugs.

• 2011/02/14: The development snapshot Writer2LaTeX 1.1.6 is released. This release improves EPUB export, adds support for JabRef and fixes various bugs.

• 2010/11/01: The development snapshot Writer2LaTeX 1.1.5 is released. This release adds support for Zotero references, Norwegian Nynorsk translation, automatic split in EPUB documents and various bugfixes.

• 2010/07/02: The development snapshot Writer2LaTeX 1.1.4 is released.

• 2010/06/03: The minor update Writer2LaTeX 1.0.2 is now released. This adds Finnish translation and fixes a problem with display equations.

• 2010/03/10: The development snapshot Writer2LaTeX 1.1.1 is released.

• 2010/03/05: The minor update Writer2LaTeX 1.0.1 is now released. This fixes the problem with formulas in OpenOffice.org 3.2.

• 2010/02/19: If Writer2LaTeX is used together with OpenOffice.org 3.2, the export of formulas is broken (formulas are exported as images). This problem will be fixed as soon as possible.

• 2008/08/20: Writer2LaTeX has been dormant the first half of 2008 but is now in active development again. A minor update Writer2LaTeX 0.5.0.1 as well as a new development release Writer2LaTeX 0.9.1 is now available.

• 2007/10/16: Writer2LaTeX 0.5 final is available, fixing a few bugs in beta3.

• 2007/08/16: New beta release Writer2LaTeX 0.5 beta3 is available, fixing a couple of bugs in beta2.

• 2007/06/14: New beta release Writer2LaTeX 0.5 beta2 is available. This version features a number of bugfixes and general improvements.

• 2007/04/10: New beta release Writer2LaTeX 0.5 beta is available. Most important changes since version 0.4.1d: Many bugfixes in OpenDocument support. Improved figure and table export to LaTeX (floats, captions, list of figures and tables, colortbl.sty). More flexible export of formatting to xhtml, and automatic conversion of images and objects in xhtml export (export filter only).

• 2006/11/02: New development release Writer2LaTeX 0.4.1d is available. Most important change is support for documents in OpenDocument format and improved integration with OpenOffice.org (you can now install Writer2LaTeX as an extension package).

• 2006/11/02: Writer2LaTeX 0.4 (LaTeX export only) is integrated in OpenOffice.org 2.0.4.

• 2006/11/02: Writer2LaTeX is in active development again after a rather long break. (Sorry for unanswered support mails the last 6-8 months).

• 2005/10/07: New development release Writer2LaTeX 0.4.1a is available. Most important changes since version 0.4 are:

  • LaTeX export: Support fancyhdr.sty, geometry.sty, supertabular.sty, tabulary.sty. Support for string replace (eg. export all occurences of LaTeX as \LaTeX), Improved handling of tables, graphics and notes (annotations). Custom export of tabulator stops.

  • XHMTL export: Convert an entire directory with index pages. Use a template document. Support for html forms. Improved handling of lists, tables and table of contents.

• 2005/07/01: New stable version, Writer2LaTeX 0.4 is available. This version fixes a few bugs from 0.4 beta2.

• 2005/07/01: German documentation is now available: You can download an extract of "LaTeX – Das Praxisbuch" (2.ed) by Elke and Michael Niedermair in pdf-format. Thanks to Michael Niedermair!

• 2004/12/30: Writer2LaTeX 0.4 beta2 is available. This version fixes some problems with formulas plus a few other (minor) issues.

• 2004/12/21: First release of ServOO is available. ServOO is a server side document converter for web applications, using OOo and Writer2LaTeX for conversions. See http://www.servoo.net for more information. ServOO is used by the Lodel content management system, http://www.lodel.org.

• 2004/12/09: Writer2LaTeX 0.4 beta is available. Most important changes since version 0.3.2 are:

  • LaTeX export: Improved readability of the LaTeX code and improved "clean" export. The package writer.sty has been removed; a new package ooomath.sty is used for documents with formulas. Now supports 25 languages. Support for Cp1251 and latin2 inputenc. Support for the packages eurosym.sty, tipa.sty, lastpage.sty. Support for WingDings, Symbol and OpenSymbol fonts. Improved export of formatting. Support for other documentclasses than article. New options to control export of double spaces, hard page breaks, hard line breaks. Support for simple roundtrip editing with TeX4ht.

  • XHTML export: New Calc2xhtml export. Improved table formatting. Support section formatting. Convert units to px. Partial bidi support. New options to control export of double spaces, empty paragraphs, hard line breaks.

  • General: The outputpath/filename can now be specified on the command line. Now uses Ant to build.

• 2004/04/22: Writer2LaTeX 0.3.2b available. This fixes a minor bug in 0.3.2 (global configuration was ignored).

• 2004/02/20: New stable version, Writer2LaTeX 0.3.2 is available.
